The Diana Freedman’s School of Dance and Performing Arts is a Bexhill based Performance school delivering fun, friendly and high-quality teaching to students of all ages and abilities, with Professional Studios with sprung floors, barres and mirrors. From our very youngest pre-school students, through to our adult dancers and Teacher training students, there really is something to suit everyone - whether a beginner or training professional!
Since opening in 1989, the School has grown from strength to strength, and was Awarded the High Examinations Achievement Award by the Dance Council International for continual high standards in exam work.

Students have achieved outstanding marks in all BATD dance exams and have been selected to dance at projects such as Disneyland Paris, The National Orchestra at the De La Warr Pavilion the All England National Dance Finals, with Strictly Come Dancing’s Pasha Kovalev, BATD Senior Scholarships, BATD Junior Scholarships, BATD Freestyle Scholarships, BATD London Region West End Showcase, Eastbourne’s Airborne, Hastings Direct Charity Football, Christmas Concerts at The Congress Theatre- Eastbourne, the Summer Variety Show in the Hippodrome Theatre, Eastbourne, and at the All England Festival- Peacock Theatre, London, as well as providing dancers for many other shows, including pantomimes, and ballet companies, including The Royal Ballet. Senior students and past teachers have gone on to work professionally in West End shows such as ‘An American in Paris’, 'The Book of Morman' 'The Wizard of Oz', 'Magic Mike', 'Evita', 'High School Musical', 'Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas', and 'Sesame Street Live'. Senior students have gone on to graduate with Agents from Bird College, The London School of Musical Theatre, Brighton Academy and The Southern Theatre Arts Centre. Past pupils now teaching professionally- working in Euro Disney, Cruise Ships, Ballet Companies, Film Work, Extras, Adverts, Tv work etc. All our pupils have the opportunity to regularly become involved in shows, workshops, festivals, exams, summer schools and many other exciting projects.

Our main examination board The B.A.T.D. was first formed in 1892 & is the longest running Dance Association. Our Examinations are fully Accredited & the BATD is a Member of the Dance Council & Friends Society.
Through our commitment and passion for dance, we promise to deliver the highest levels of teaching, with professional care and attention given to all our pupils. All teachers are fully qualified, with training and examinations taken in accordance with the BATD, or training through our Teacher Training Scheme.
